The Itty Bitty Ice Age

Last Wednesday I wore flip-flops to work. I drank iced mochas all day and propped the front door open. I laughed with my customers, "Snow? Ha! No, Really how could it stick....Really???"

And 36 hours later...

Yeeah buddy. Of course, like everyone else, we had no power. At least I was able to save the contents of the fridge by keeping it in totes and coolers out on the deck.

We took the new truck out for a spin Friday morning, and I snapped a few pics. Normally I stink at photography, but in this case the amazing frigid scenery did all the work. It was estimated that an average sized tree was laden with a total of about a metric ton of ice.

We camped out in our living room, literally. Doug broke out the tent and sleeping bags. The kids were having a blast without all that stupid electricity. I mean there's so much fun stuff to do besides numbing our minds with technological devices (i.e. Video iPods, or a shirt in Max's case.)

We had our power back by Saturday night, but what good is that when there's no cable, and in turn, no internet. What is a girl to do but suckle the WIFI teet of St. Louis Bread Co., in the parking lot no less, because it's too freaking packed inside.

Ice is cool, but I prefer it in my mocha.
